Review: Maybelline, Neutrogena & Revlon

Products
  • Maybelline SuperStay 24HR Makeup Sand Beige
  • Neutrogena SkinClearing mineral powder Classic Ivory & Buff
  • Revlon ColorStay pressed powder Light

These are the products that I've been trying out lately. I usually never stray away from Revlon Colorstay but I wanted to get something lighter to wear. I was aiming for at least medium coverage to at least mask any redness.

revlon colorstay pressed powder
Revlon Colorstay pressed powder Light

First impressions: Goes on smooth but this shade was too light for me. Light Medium would have probably worked better for summer.

Pros:
  • great coverage
  • long lasting
  • doesn't look cakey.
Cons:
  • if you have a problem nose, you'll need to re-apply!
Neutrogena Skinclearing powder classic ivory

Bare vs Neutrogena SkinClearing mineral powder Classic Ivory

First impressions: Hated! It made my skin look dry and it caked up. It didn't cover redness.

Pros:
  • two-sided applicator sheer & fuller coverage
  • matte face
  • touch ups around 6+ hrs
Cons:
  • not enough coverage for redness
  • drying and cakey
  • extra skin prep
I'll keep using these powders for the 0.5% Salicylic Acid though.

Maybelline SuperStay 24HR Makeup Sand Beige
First impressions: Little too nude/pink in person then it kind of settles.

Pros:
  • medium coverage
  • Feels light
  • Touch ups 6+ hrs
Cons:
  • Easily removable with water
I used this for around three weeks. It's definitely a lighter version of Revlon Colorstay. The lasting power is quite similar too! It blends nicely near my neck.

What's your summer makeup?

Style: Metallica Crop

Manic Panic Voodoo Blue

I'm dying to do some portraits and since no one seems to be available I'm doing myself! Which can either be fun or "Is it in focus yet?!" Looks like I have finally hit my hair goal length and it only took a million years!

This is one of the BEST summers I've had in years. Not once have I sat at home wondering what I'm going to do for the next month and having no ideas. I've done several portrait sessions, attempted hiking, met a bunch of new people, came out of my shell, did some crafts, dyed my hair blue, attempted some outfit pictures and released some PS actions!

First time I've ever been social and it's not as intimidating as I thought.

Metallica! 2-3 years ago, I think. There was a time that I went to a bunch of concerts and it all seems to mesh together now. I haven't been to one since last year and Iron Maiden is coming up next month. By now it's only the lawn available.

Anyways this shirt no longer fits at the bust. My second attempt at a crop top.

Then there's this hand-me-down black lace tube dress! I am no longer determined to force this to fit on me. It simply will not zip up around the bust. It's one of those things you know there's a HUGE possibility of the zipper not coming back down and you may have to cut yourself out!

I feel like I've disappeared for weeks, what have I missed?

Style: Summer with Manic Panic Voodoo Blue

I am enjoying these days inside, out with friends or photographing!  Making a note to myself to put aside money and buy a new piece of clothing each week to slowly build a new wardrobe!

Manic Panic Voodoo Blue
I tried out Manic Panic's Voodoo Blue for a change. I really love this light blue shade. I attempted to curl my hair and do pin curls afterward to see how long it would hold. It looks a bit messy but it's not easy to brush out without ruining the shape.

Lovelovelove!

I'm just popping in for now. Will return soon!
