Cap Pattern

I was inspired by a cap but the pattern is a chart only and I don't know how to read those. I tried to do my own version. 

If I were to make this again then I don't think I would do the joins and chains. I didn't like the seam


Magic ring.

1. ch 3, double crochet 14 times, sl st into top of chain 3. Pull tail tight!
2. ch 3. double crochet in same st and 2dc in every st after that. sl st into top of chain 3.
3. ch 3. double crochet in same st and the next. 2dc in next st, dc in next st around. (end w/ 1 dc). sl st into top of ch3.
4. ch 3. double crochet in same st and next 2 sts. 2dc in next st, dc in next 2 sts around. sl st into top of ch3.
5. ch 3. double crochet in same st and next 3 sts. 2dc in next st, dc in next 3 sts around. sl st into top of ch3.
6. ch 3. double crochet in same st. dc in every st around. . sl st into top of ch3.
7. ch 3. double crochet in same st and next 4 sts. 2dc in next st, dc in next 4 sts around. sl st into top of ch3.
8. ch 3. double crochet in same st. dc in every st around. . sl st into top of ch3.
9. ch 3. double crochet in same st and next 5 sts. 2dc in next st, dc in next 5 sts around. sl st into top of ch3.
10. ch 3. double crochet in same st. dc in every st around. . sl st into top of ch3.
11. ch 3. double crochet in same st and next 6 sts. 2dc in next st, dc in next 6 sts around. sl st into top of ch3.
12-18. ch 3. double crochet in same st. dc in every st around. . sl st into top of ch3.

Continue for more length.


Decrease:
19. ch 3. hdc across 6 times, dec (using 3 sts) across.
20. ch 3. sc across.
21. ch 3. hdc across 6 times, dec (using 3 sts) across.

Brim:
1. “Sc, ch 1 (skip stitch)” repeat for length and end with sc. (I did 18 in total [including chains!])
2. Ch 1. “Sc, ch 1″ repeat across and end with sc.
3. Ch 1. “Sc, ch 1″ repeat across and end with sc.
4. Ch 1. “Sc, ch 1″ repeat across and end with sc.

sl st into right of brim. Sc around the brim. sl st into end of left of brim.
1-2: ch 2. sc across, 3sc into corner, sc across, 3sc into corner, sc across. sl st into bottom corner.
3. ch 2. sc in backloops.
