My Lolita Dress haul

Last year, I wanted to try out a simple dress specifically for a future convention. I can't imagine wearing it in my daily life though. It makes me feel too much like a doll. I decided to go with My Lolita Dress.

I had a huge interest in Japanese street fashion when I was a teenager. Back when Livejournal was a thing, I would browse images on there from the magazine Fruits. I liked Decora's neon colors and a thousand accessories. All the various Kei styles always layered items together well. My top favorite style was Gothic Lolita since the darker colors could make the outfit simple, cute or elegant. I always wanted to try it out but I never had enough money or the right resources to find more affordable options.

Waiting for Spring OOTD

I'm getting ready for spring!! I quickly put this together because I only like to dress up on weekdays when everyone is out!!

It's almost time to retire this dress, I'm pretty sure it magically got shorter and bigger in the bust in the past years ;) But I'm waiting for a purpley version of this dress to come out somewhere first! Or maybe I'll just have to sew up one myself.

I had to stock up on some Elf Matte Lip Colors to go with my new wigs and dresses and now Berry Sorbet is my new favorite after being attached to a mix of Tea Rose + Nyx Copenhagen for so long.

rings - LizHutnick & Amazon
rose hair clip - DIY
moon kitty bow necklace - Kuma Crafts
dress - Forever21
wig - eBay

I'm getting obsessed with this wig now, I wasn't really in love with it at first due to some of the flaws near the part line but I don't really care about it anymore! Purple + pink forever!

I'm also obsessed with the Sailor Moon jewelry from Kuma Crafts... I have so much trouble deciding which colors to buy because they all look so good! I think I want all the cat stuff in all the variations... and the heart designs.. and basically everything, yes.

New Wig & Delicate Tangles Flower Hair Extension

I'm trying to not be a vampire while it's cold and rainy outside. I got this new wig from eBay since most of mine are either dark purple or dark brown. This one is still purpley but at least it's brighter? I have no idea what other colors would work on me.

The roses are a flower braid hair extension from Delicate Tangles. It has a clip (like hair extensions) and there's 3 clear strands that hang from it with several flowers per strand.

I didn't even know this was a thing until I somehow stumbled on it somewhere, maybe Instagram. I like it more than just using individual flowers on hair clips because I only need to worry about one clip! I got the 10" length and I was sure it was going to work with my real hair but my hair is still not long enough. I'm pretty sure my hair stopped growing a year ago, probably because of all my health issues.

Do you like flower braid hair extensions or do you prefer hair clips or headbands?

eShakti Dress Review

dress- c/o eShakti | belt- thrifted | shoes- thrifted |  necklace- handmade

eShakti offered to sent me an item to review. I've heard many things about them and wanted to try it out for myself! They are an India based clothing company that offers customizable pieces at affordable prices. That is something I'm really interested in since I'm short and my measurements are in between sizes.

Shipping was super quick to the US! It arrived in under a week with DHL (international shipping) and the delivery guy rang the doorbell 15 minutes before 10pm. Surprise! haha Their shipping charges seem reasonable for the US and Canada. Anywhere else will have a percentage fee.

This is a dream dress but in pink. Just kidding, I chose this color myself and I actually like it!  I really love the quality of it. It's very beautifully made! It surpasses the quality of my other dresses in comparison. I've never had a dress lined before and if you haven't either, you are missing out. These also have pockets and you have the option to remove them on some dresses, but why would you??

The alternations I chose were adding on short sleeves and knee length for my barely 5'2" height. This particular dress doesn't seem to be available on the website anymore but there is another dress with a scalloped trim here. eShakti seems to have a limited stock of their dresses so if you see one you like, you better scoop it up.

Two things though...

I've lost an inch from my waist from corset training but I STILL sized up the waist measurement. I tried it on and it was a tad tight in the waist even with having ruched elastic in the back. It wasn't an uncomfortable squeeze but it did hug my belly pouch.

The second issue was the seam at the bust and at the back tore slightly down the center. It's a minor problem since I'm able to stitch it up quickly.

Overall I really like it especially the fit. Wear it with a corset and it's all good. I recommend you have someone else measure your shoulders if you go custom sizing! I think I could have done without an inch but that's my fault. Though it doesn't look bad having it slip down the shoulders slightly.  If I need a pretty, fancy looking black dress in the future, I'll be ordering from them! I prefer fitted clothing with lengths for shorties.
