Blythe Bear Hat Crochet Pattern

Hello! I recently stumbled on the patterns I created for my Blythe doll and realized I never got around to sharing them. This is the pattern for the white bear hat!

If you make this hat, I'd love to see it! Please add it on Ravelry or post photos in the comments.

Materials/Tools:
  • Worsted weight yarn (Lion Brand's Vanna's Choice, Red Heart Super Savers, etc)
  • E/3.5mm crochet hook or size to obtain gauge
Gauge:
3.5 stitches and 2 rows per 1 inch (2.5cm)

Hat Height:
3.5 inches (9 cm)

Pattern:
  • The beginning ch counts as a stitch. When working increases at the beginning of the round, dc in same st as the join. When working even rounds, don't crochet in the same st as the join. Skip it and crochet the next st.
  • Join rounds with a sl st to the first stitch (the beginning ch).
Hat:

R1: Ch 2, 11 dc into magic ring. Join to ch 2. (12 sts)

R2: Ch 2, dc in same st as join. 2 dc in every st. Join to ch 2. (24 sts)

R3: Ch 2, dc in same st as join. Dc in next st. *2 dc in st, dc in next st* to end. Join to ch 2. (36 sts)

R4: Ch 2, dc in same st as join. Dc in next 8 sts. *2 dc in st, dc in next 8 sts* to end. Join to ch 2. (40 sts)

R5-7: Ch 2, dc in every st. Join to ch 2. (40 sts, 3 rounds)

R8: Ch 1, sc in every st. Join to ch 1. (40 sts)

Fasten off and weave in the end.

Ears (Make 2):

R1: Ch 2, 14 dc into magic ring. Join to ch 2. (15 sts)

Fasten off and leave tail for sewing. Sew the ears on R3 of the hat.

For the blue bear hat:

I stitched on button eyes and a nose & mouth on a piece of felt.
I also added a round of single crochet in the back loop to the ears.

Blythe Reroot

I'm not really into dolls but I do like trying new things so I thought I'd try customizing a blythe fakie for fun. I started off with a reroot because I like pretty fibers!!

I bought a rubber scalp from Cool Cat and used about 1oz of pink lilac ombre teeswater locks from LiaRiabaRussa and 1.2oz of purple wensleydate locks from PinkLambUK!

I really like the texture and the width of the locks as they are so I didn't want to brush them out or make the plugs much smaller.

Thatching the partline.

I wanted to keep the length so I did the knot method and used a rooting tool to make all the holes and then I pulled the strands through with a 1.30mm crochet hook.

Now I need to change the eye chips and paint the eyelids. I might try carving the face and changing the eyelashes some other time.

Rainbow Blythe TBL

I got a rainbow Blythe TBL doll about a week ago. I liked the idea of getting one of these dolls so I could make more instant gratification projects!!

The blue dress I made fits but it's a little loose. I also made some crochet hats and a pink fleece dress that was more of a test.

Here she is with one of the unicorn amigurumis ♥

I've been working on some sewn dresses that I'll post later!
