Watercolor Stuff!

3.31.2016
I joined Paint My Photo last year and meant to paint at least once everyday so I could get better but I couldn't really commit to it.

I used the Spring Pansies photo by Janruss as a reference.

I was going to do a Pokemon project, but only finished Eevee!

Random kitty flower thing.

Sad kitty owl butterfly.

Flower cats everywhere!

I'm not good at drawing peoples, I tried following a manga how to book for this.

Sunflowers!

Flower god.

Blythe Bear Hat Crochet Pattern

3.29.2016
Hello! I recently stumbled on the patterns I created for my Blythe doll and realized I never got around to sharing them. This is the pattern for the white bear hat!

If you make this hat, I'd love to see it! Please add it on Ravelry or post photos in the comments.

Materials/Tools:
  • Worsted weight yarn (Lion Brand's Vanna's Choice, Red Heart Super Savers, etc)
  • E/3.5mm crochet hook or size to obtain gauge
Gauge:
3.5 stitches and 2 rows per 1 inch (2.5cm)

Hat Height:
3.5 inches (9 cm)

Pattern:
  • The beginning ch counts as a stitch. When working increases at the beginning of the round, dc in same st as the join. When working even rounds, don't crochet in the same st as the join. Skip it and crochet the next st.
  • Join rounds with a sl st to the first stitch (the beginning ch).
Hat:

R1: Ch 2, 11 dc into magic ring. Join to ch 2. (12 sts)

R2: Ch 2, dc in same st as join. 2 dc in every st. Join to ch 2. (24 sts)

R3: Ch 2, dc in same st as join. Dc in next st. *2 dc in st, dc in next st* to end. Join to ch 2. (36 sts)

R4: Ch 2, dc in same st as join. Dc in next 8 sts. *2 dc in st, dc in next 8 sts* to end. Join to ch 2. (40 sts)

R5-7: Ch 2, dc in every st. Join to ch 2. (40 sts, 3 rounds)

R8: Ch 1, sc in every st. Join to ch 1. (40 sts)

Fasten off and weave in the end.

Ears (Make 2):

R1: Ch 2, 14 dc into magic ring. Join to ch 2. (15 sts)

Fasten off and leave tail for sewing. Sew the ears on R3 of the hat.

For the blue bear hat:

I stitched on button eyes and a nose & mouth on a piece of felt.
I also added a round of single crochet in the back loop to the ears.

Owl Rug Crochet Pattern

3.08.2016

I felt like crocheting items for home and started with a rug. It took me a while to decide on what animal to make. I picked the owl since it'd be a fun shape to make!

Inspired by freeform projects, this project uses a variety of stitches (ch, sc, hdc, dr, htr, tr, htr cluster, v st, tr v st, increasing, decreasing, sl st) and some parts are worked in rows and joined rounds.

These are my pattern notes. Since I only made one of these, I didn't keep track of all the stitch counts and the pattern hasn't been tested. If there are errors or you find something confusing, please let me know. I'm planning on making another one in the future to get more detailed notes.

Materials & Tools:

• Worsted weight yarn, held doubled (or use bulky weight yarn)
• I/5.5mm hook (OR larger hook size, it's important to use a large enough hook size for your yarn/tension.)
• Yarn needle

Abbreviations & Stitches:

• beg - beginning
• ch - chain
• dc - double crochet
• dc3tog - double crochet 3 stitches together
• hdc - half double crochet
• htr - half treble
• htr cluster - Wrap yarn around hook twice and insert hook into st, pull up a loop, yarn over, and pull through 1 loop. (4 loops on hook) Wrap yarn round hook twice and insert hook into same st, pull up a loop, yarn over, and pull through 1 loop. (7 loops on hook) Yarn over, pull through all loops.
• RS - right side
• sc - single crochet
• sc2tog - single crochet 2 stitches together
• sc4tog - single crochet 4 stitches together
• sl st - slip stitch
• sk - skip
• sp - space
• st(es) - stitch(es)
• R# - Round/Row
• tr - treble crochet
• tr v st - Tr in st, ch 1, tr in same st.
• v st - Dc in st, ch 1, dc in same st.
• WS - wrong side

Waiting for Spring OOTD

3.01.2016
I'm getting ready for spring!! I quickly put this together because I only like to dress up on weekdays when everyone is out!!

It's almost time to retire this dress, I'm pretty sure it magically got shorter and bigger in the bust in the past years ;) But I'm waiting for a purpley version of this dress to come out somewhere first! Or maybe I'll just have to sew up one myself.

I had to stock up on some Elf Matte Lip Colors to go with my new wigs and dresses and now Berry Sorbet is my new favorite after being attached to a mix of Tea Rose + Nyx Copenhagen for so long.

rings - LizHutnick & Amazon
rose hair clip - DIY
moon kitty bow necklace - Kuma Crafts
dress - Forever21
wig - eBay

I'm getting obsessed with this wig now, I wasn't really in love with it at first due to some of the flaws near the part line but I don't really care about it anymore! Purple + pink forever!

I'm also obsessed with the Sailor Moon jewelry from Kuma Crafts... I have so much trouble deciding which colors to buy because they all look so good! I think I want all the cat stuff in all the variations... and the heart designs.. and basically everything, yes.
